Some people call this “Poor Man’s Steak”, but I have never personally never liked the sound of that name. So, fried beef patties it is. This is a fast, simple, and hearty little meal.You can also make this gluten free by using oatmeal in the meat mixture and almond flour regular flour.
To have a complete meal, I like making gravy to serve over top of it with biscuits and vegetables on the side. There is nothing like a home cooked comfort food like this one. Enjoy!
Time: 20 minutes Serves: 4 people Makes: 8 3in. round patties
Fried Beef Patties
Ingredients
Meat Mixture
- 1 pound of ground beef or turkey
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup oatmeal, crushed crackers, or bread crumbs
- 2 tsp. beef bouillon
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Breading
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp. beef bouillon
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. parsley
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Oil for frying
Directions
- Heat oil into a skillet on medium heat.
- Combine all meat mixture ingredients into a medium bowl
- Combine all breading ingredients into a small bowl.
- Make 3 inch patties with meat mixture and bread with the flour mixture. ( You might need to add more eggs or oatmeal,bread crumbs, or crackers to help it struck together better depending on which filler you use.
- Fry meat patties for 5 minutes on each side or until browned on each side.
